We are Aaron and Davy, a gay couple who have been together since March 2000 and this is our story. Still very young, just finished high school, starting at our first jobs and buying a house together, we decided we could adopt later when we were settled.
Little did we know the waiting time for Belgian adoptions would increase dramatically in the following years.
In March 2000 Davy and I met online, we both still went to school and started dating. Five years later I surprised him with a trip to Venice and popped the question on San Marco Square, luckily he said yes. ๐
We got married in 2008 and the next few years our siblings all had babies so we decided the time was right for us to follow up on our dream and start the next chapter in our live together. So we went to the first available adoption info session in January 2012 and thatโs where this story began.

From info sessions at Kind & Gezin, courses at Steunpunt adoptie, several visits to family court, a thorough investigation at CAW Brussel we have arrived at the last step of the process. Finally we are registered at Adoptiehuis which is the institution responsible for handling the contracts and handover of the child which is about to become our very own baby!
Two daddies and me is a personal blog where we will share the stories of how we got to were we are today and most importantly of the many stories that are still to come.
It will give you an insight of what itโs like to adopt in Belgium. (Patience is key!) All the steps mentioned above have been a performed over a period of 8 years by now, so there is a lot to talk about.
We will add reviews of products and shops and there will be a section for all things Disney as we both are big Disney fans.
Thank you for joining us on this amazing journey. We hope you enjoy reading our blog as much as we love making the memories and stories.
